Architecture

A Nod to the Past

Architects Chigazola (1869–1911) and Hunker (1876–1958) designed the Scimitar Building. The structure exemplifies early 1900s architecture.

Featuring Corinthian columns, Italian cornices, and a Romanesque entrance crowned by three-dimensional laurel wreaths. Original carved lions' heads remain atop the 5th floor overlooking Madison and Third Streets.
